2. Scope of This Policy

This Policy applies to personal information collected through tirgan.ca and related subdomains, newsletter sign-ups, waitlist and event inquiries, volunteer, sponsor, and donor submissions, festival-related communications, and other online or offline interactions connected to Tirgan — including the Tirgan World Tour, beginning with Southern California in Summer 2027, and future tour stops that Tirgan decides.
Ticket purchases are processed through our ticketing partner, Eventbrite.
Donations and payments may be processed through Stripe and CanadaHelps.
These providers process your information under their own privacy policies and terms, which we encourage you to review.

3. Personal Information We May Collect

  • Ticketing and registration information, such as ticket type, order details, attendee names, and communications related to your purchase, collected through Eventbrite.
  • Volunteer, sponsor, artist, and donor information, such as application details, areas of interest, availability, organization or brand name, and communications related to your involvement with Tirgan.
  • Donation and payment-related information, such as transaction status and billing details, processed through Stripe and CanadaHelps. We do not store full credit card numbers on our website.
  • Communications, including messages you send to us through our contact form (General, Programming, Volunteer, Sponsorship, or Public Relations inquiries), email, social media, or other channels.
  • Website and device information, including IP address, browser type, device type, pages visited, referral source, approximate location, and cookie or analytics information, collected through Google Analytics.
  • Media and event content, such as photos or videos taken at Tirgan events, where permitted by applicable law and event terms.

4. How We Use Personal Information

We use personal information for reasonable festival, charitable, safety, and communication purposes, including to:

  • Operate, administer, and improve the Tirgan website and festival experience.
  • Process ticket purchases (via Eventbrite), donations (via Stripe and CanadaHelps), volunteer applications, sponsorship inquiries, and general submissions.
  • Respond to questions, applications, and customer service matters.
  • Send essential event communications, such as confirmations, updates, schedule changes, and operational information.
  • Manage volunteer coordination, sponsorship relationships, and festival logistics.
  • Maintain donor and supporter records for charitable reporting and stewardship.
  • Send newsletters and event announcements through our email and CRM platform, Monday.com, where we have consent or are otherwise permitted by law.
  • Improve our marketing, website performance, and audience understanding using Google Analytics.
  • Support safety, security, legal and charitable-reporting compliance, and enforcement of our terms and policies.

6. Cookies, Analytics, and Similar Technologies

Our website uses cookies and analytics tools, including Google Analytics and Meta Pixel to help the website function, understand visitor behaviour, measure performance, remember preferences, and improve the user experience.
These technologies may collect information such as pages viewed, time on page, referral source, device information, browser type, IP address, approximate location, and interactions with links or forms.
You can usually manage or block cookies through your browser settings. Some website features may not work properly if cookies are disabled.

7. Marketing Communications

We use Monday.com to manage our newsletter, campaigns, and supporter communications.
We may send newsletters, festival announcements, volunteer and sponsorship opportunities, World Tour updates, and other promotional communications where we have your consent or are otherwise permitted to do so under applicable law, including Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL) and, for U.S. recipients, the CAN-SPAM Act.
Marketing emails identify Tirgan as the sender and include a way to unsubscribe.
You can unsubscribe from non-essential marketing communications at any time.
Essential transactional or operational messages, such as ticket confirmations or event changes, may still be sent where permitted.

8. Sharing Personal Information

We do not sell personal information. We may share personal information with service providers and partners where reasonably necessary for festival operations, ticketing, payment processing, email communications, analytics, customer support, or charitable administration, including:

  • Eventbrite (ticketing)
  • Stripe and CanadaHelps (donations and payments)
  • Monday.com (email campaigns and CRM)
  • Google Analytics (website analytics)

We may also disclose personal information if required by law, legal process, government request, or to protect the rights, safety, and property of Tirgan, attendees, volunteers, donors, or the public.

9. Third-Party Websites and Platforms

Our website may link to third-party websites, ticketing pages, donation pages, or social media platforms (including Instagram, LinkedIn, Telegram, WhatsApp, and YouTube).
We are not responsible for the privacy practices, security, or content of third-party websites or platforms. Please review their policies before submitting information to them.

10. Retention of Personal Information

We keep personal information only for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Policy, including to provide services, maintain charitable and donor records, meet legal, accounting, and reporting requirements, and resolve disputes.
Retention periods may vary depending on the type of information and the reason it was collected.
When information is no longer required, we will take reasonable steps to delete, anonymize, or securely dispose of it.

11. Security Safeguards

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, loss, misuse, disclosure, alteration, or destruction.
No website, email system, payment process, or online platform can be guaranteed to be completely secure.
You should use caution when sharing personal information online and contact us if you believe your information may have been compromised in connection with Tirgan.
To help protect our website from spam, abuse, and automated bots, we use Cloudflare Turnstile on certain forms.
This service may collect technical information necessary to determine whether a visitor is a human or an automated system.
By using forms protected by Turnstile, you acknowledge that the Cloudflare Privacy Policy and Terms of Service apply.

12. Children and Minors

Tirgan festivals are family-friendly and may be attended by minors.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children without appropriate parent or legal guardian involvement or consent where required.
For family-related programs or requests involving a minor, a parent or legal guardian may need to provide information on their behalf.
Parents or guardians may contact us with privacy questions related to a minor’s information.

13. International or Cross-Border Processing

Tirgan operates in both Canada and the United States, and some of our service providers or platforms may store or process information outside the country in which you reside.
When information is processed in another jurisdiction, it may be subject to the laws of that jurisdiction, including lawful access by courts, governments, or regulatory authorities.
We take reasonable steps to use reputable service providers and to limit the information shared to what is reasonably necessary for the relevant service.

14. Tirgan World Tour and Future Editions

This Policy currently covers all Tirgan World Tour stops, including the Southern California debut, because Tirgan organizes these events directly using the same website, ticketing, donation, CRM, and analytics providers described above.
If a future World Tour stop is produced through an independent local partner, promoter, or licensee using its own systems, that edition will be covered by its own privacy notice, and we will provide a clear link to it from this page rather than folding it into this Policy.
Until then, one policy applies across all Tirgan and Tirgan World Tour activity.

15. Your Privacy Rights and Choices

Subject to applicable law, you may request access to personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct inaccurate information, withdraw consent to non-essential uses, unsubscribe from marketing communications, or ask questions about our privacy practices.

Canadian residents: these rights are supported under Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA).

US residents: In accordance with the CAN-SPAM Act, we ensure that all commercial emails clearly identify Tirgan as the sender, contain accurate subject lines, include our physical postal address, and provide an easily accessible unsubscribe link.
We honor all opt-out requests within 10 business days.
You may have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA/CPRA), including the right to know what personal information we collect and to request deletion of that information.
Tirgan does not sell personal information.

To make a privacy request, contact us at [email protected].
We may need to verify your identity before responding, and we will respond within a reasonable time, subject to legal and operational requirements.

16. Updates to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time.
Updates will be posted on this page with a revised “Last Updated” date.
Your continued use of the website or interaction with Tirgan after an update means the updated Policy applies going forward.
